Holistic Learning

400 million children call India home. 8 million of them have never been to a school. 80 million will drop out before they complete elementary education.

India is home to the largest proportion of the world’s children. Children also constitute one third of the nation’s population. And yet, India continues to persistently fail in securing even the most fundamental rights for its child populace- nutrition, education, dignity. 170 million children go hungry, 8 million remain out of school and have never seen a classroom, never experienced the wonder of learning. These estimates demonstrate the nation’s sustained apathy towards its children, its only future.

While India continues to make strides in fostering access and enrolment, much needs to be done in securing improved learning outcomes and continued schooling. Access to quality schooling, as such, continues to be a critical concern, especially in rural and urban peripheries.

Sshrishti’s Initiatives in Holistic Education

Sshrishti aspires to promptly address this critical lack of educational and schooling opportunities amongst India’s poorest communities. It also seeks to remedy the persistent low learning outcomes and high drop-out rates by provisioning a holistic programme of learning for underprivileged children that provides quality education along with adequate nutrition, life-skill training, and the cultivation of arts and sporting faculties.
