This programme launched in February 2018 is Sshrishti’s largest and most ambitious programme to date. The project aims to make women living in rural areas in three districts of Uttarakhand, internet literate and use it to enhance their livelihood.
From February 2018 to September 2018, the project will familiarise 600000 women in the districts of Nainital, Almora and Bageshwar in the use of internet. At a later stage they will be taught to use it for their livelihood enhancement.
This project supported by Google and Tata Trust will subsequently roll to the other 10 districts of Uttarakhand.
Sshrishti’s current team of 35 people are doing a remarkable job in travelling to remote areas and appointing Internet Saathis, who in turn will teach other women of her neighbouring village using two smart phones. So far 1000 saathis are on the field, each targeting to train 600 women.
